 What is a Volunteer Center?

A Volunteer Center is an organization dedicated to helping people find opportunities to volunteer in their community.  Volunteer Centers work hand-in-hand with agencies in the area to find solutions to serious social problems and ultimately help build a stronger, more caring community.  In addition, Volunteer Centers provide training to other nonprofit organizations to help them fine-tune their volunteer programs to create satisfying volunteer experiences and increase their ability to impact local needs. There are over 450 Volunteer Centers and Hands On affiliates in the United States.  We have 18 existing centers or centers in development in Wisconsin!

Check back often - we post new volunteer opportunities every day.

  What’s my commitment?

You decide!  Any amount of time to volunteer is welcome!  We understand that everyone is busy.  We have things you can do for just a few hours, or a day.  We have things you can do for a few weeks.  And we have volunteer opportunities for long-term commitments of months or even years.  Each volunteer decides what level of commitment is right for him or her.

I don’t have time to volunteer.
