Background:  Begun in 2007, this county coalition was formed to bring together representatives of all parts of the community in preparedness planning - education, first responders, business, non-profit, government, healthcare.

Mission :    Strengthen all hazards preparedness through collaborative partnerships.

Vision :      Integrate preparedness at all levels for Washington County.

Purpose :  Provide a broad-base of community partnerships and networking on all hazards preparedness efforts in Washington County.

AHPC...

Provides opportunities for networking                               Promotes cooperation and coordination

Promotes planning/training/exercising                              Promotes community education/awareness

Provides assistance for mandates as appropriate          Serves as a forum to review plans 

Serves as a “Clearing house” for information and available resources
